Director’s Message

Greetings:

 

Welcome to the School of Education website.  On behalf of the College of Applied Human Sciences, I want you to know that the College has no objective more important than to assure excellence in our academic programs and the success of our students.

 

The School of Education is located within the College of Applied Human Sciences, along with seven other academic units. The mission of the College is to promote the well-being of people, and the environment in which they live, through education, research, and community service in the areas of individual and family development, education, human services, nutrition, wellness, design, and the application of technology. Colorado State University is a premier international public research university committed to the ideal that educated and motivated people can make a difference in the world.

 

The School of Education faculty expertise spans diverse learning contexts and populations. Innovative instruction, equitable access, technology education, distance and continuing education, service learning, workforce development initiatives, workplace learning strategies, professional development school partnerships, and rigorous research methodologies characterize the program.

 

The School of Education offers the following graduate degrees:

              Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D.) degree in Education and Human Resource Studies with specializations in Community College Leadership; Educational Leadership, Renewal, and Change; Interdisciplinary Studies; Organizational Performance and Change; and Research Methodology; 

              Masters of Education (M.Ed.) in Education and Human Resource Studies with specializations in Adult Education and Training; Counseling and Career Development; Educational Leadership, Renewal, and Change; and Organizational Performance and Change;

              Masters of Science (M.S.) in Student Affairs in Higher Education.

 

The newly created School of Teacher Education and Principal Preparation (STEPP) is the non-degree, licensing program at Colorado State University. STEPP is responsible for initial licensure of K-12 teachers in 16 content areas and of public school principals, K-12.
