Louise Jennings

Bio:

My areas of specialization bridge qualitative research methods and research on teaching and learning.  I teach qualitative research methods, including courses that address field work methods (data collection and analysis) and the process of conceptualizing, designing, and writing research.  I also teach courses in social foundations of education and multicultural education.  My research has focused on issues of equity, social justice, and critical pedagogy in three related areas:  examining inquiry-based practices;  engaging in community-based participatory research regarding youth empowerment and civic engagement; and studying the role of Brazilian educators in creating democratic school practices.
