Community College Leadership

The Community College Leadership Program (CCL Program) is designed to meet the needs of persons interested in leadership positions at community colleges and other higher education institutions. The CCL Program offers students the opportunity to improve their practice if they are currently serving in a leadership position. If students are seeking a leadership position, the CCL Program offers them the opportunity to develop the cognitive, emotional, and interpersonal skills required for success in such appointments.

Educational Leadership

The Educational Leadership Ph.D. specialization is committed to connecting innovative instruction with applied research in meeting the needs of professionals,locally and at a distance, who want to develop their leadership skills. This is the largest specialization in the School of Education at Colorado State University. Our graduates are in a variety of leadership positions including K-12 schools, colleges, universities, government agencies and nonprofit organizations. The program combines a knowledge of instruction,professional development, leadership, policy, special needs and diverse populations with coursework in a selected area of a student's choosing along with both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.

Interdisciplinary Studies

This interdisciplinary specialization in the School of Education gives students the opportunity to choose an interdisciplinary concentration from among the broad range of programs offered at Colorado State University. It is designed for individuals who demonstrate a solid commitment to education and a complementary discipline. Each student enrolled in this specialization completes the core doctoral courses, specialization courses within the School of Education, and a concentration from other programs

Recent examples of interdisciplinary specializations include bridges between the School of Education and the departments of Manufacturing Technology and Construction Management, Design and Merchandising, Food Science and Human Nutrition, Health and Exercise Science, Human Development and Family Studies, Occupational Therapy, Social Work and departments in other Colleges. This program has produced university professors and other educational, clinical and administrative professionals in positions throughout the United States.

Organizational Performance and Change

The Organizational Performance and Change (OPC) PhD program of study is designed for individuals intending to occupy scholarship, research, planning and/or implementation roles associated with organizational development and performance management development processes, which advance and sustain organizations, industries, and economies engaging in the global imperative.

The course work addresses skill development and understanding of human resource capacity building within the complexities associated with the domestic and international dynamics of culture, economic, politics forces.

Degree candidates are required to actively engage in research with faculty regarding theoretical and applied OPC issues throughout their program of study.
